How does Church work?

We have already said our main aim is for people to know, grow and spread the Christian faith. But how will this happen?

In 2010 our elders sat down to work out a new mission plan. They identified 3 key areas of our Church life that we are to concentrate on over the next few years: discipleship, pastoral care and youth / children’s ministry. Here’s how those 3 areas work out in our Church life:

Discipleship

  • Weekly Thursday 8pm prayer, study and visiting speakers
  • Christianity and Discipleship Explored, usually Monday evenings through the year
  • Regular small groups for closer fellowship, meeting variously in the month
  • Mission support speakers and services
  • PW women’s group meeting monthly
  • Outreach services through the year and at Christmas

Pastoral Care

  • Regular prayer support
  • Twice yearly visits of all homesv
  • Visitation from Liz Blair (former missionary, CEF worker)
  • Ongoing visits from minister or church members when need arises
  • Prompt support to sick or bereaved of Church and Ballykeel community

Youth

  • Sunday School, Bible class 1115 term time Sundays
  • Youth Fellowship, Sunday fortnightly 745pm
  • Good News Club primary school age, Monday 630-730pm
  • Church loyalty card scheme
  • Child Protection training
  • Support of Cornhill ministry apprentice
